Author, Aesthetician and Founder of Black Skin Directory, Dija Ayodele's mission to help Black and multi-cultural communities navigate skincare has been as impactful and glittering as the awards she's received

She’s a passionate educator and champion in the skincare space. This is the legend's number one hair care product.

The product I use to the very last drop is the Aveda Nutriplenish Curl Gelée(£28). When this product finishes I know there's always some still left in it so I would even use a scissors to cut the tube open.

Wow, we love the dedication, sign us up!

I've been using Curl Gelée for the last three or four years. I was introduced to it by my hairstylist to help with the curl definition of my natural hair without it feeling heavy or crunchy.

I really enjoy using it because it is super straightforward to use, my curls are extremely defined without crunch, there’s no residue and it doesn't flake off.

Sounds like a dream.

When I use Curl Gelée it actually makes me appreciate my natural hair more, it makes me appreciate the versatility of my hair and how it can go from frizzy to curly very quickly. My hair is also very moisturised, it's very hydrating and it has a natural shine to it. And it’s just a great styling product for all sorts of curly, kinky or coily hair.

I use this product the most when my hair is out, so when I’m not wearing any wigs or anything like that. I tend to apply it a few times a week, especially after I’ve washed my hair. My favourite way to use it is to apply on to soaking wet hair and watch the curls take shape.

I apply a fifty pence piece per quarter of soaking wet hair, shake my head to allow the curls to fall into its natural pattern and then I blow dry to set and that will last me for a number of days until I have to wash my hair again.
