Skin & Sanctuary Reviews
The clinic is fairly accessible with available street parking and bus stops nearby however, Skin & Sanctuary doesn’t have a store front so look out for their black front door! On entering the salon, I came across brochures with images of people from a range of ethnic backgrounds which reflected their ability to diversify their treatments.
Before (and after) my treatment, I was given a lot of information about the condition of my skin and the different treatment options - the suggestions made were based on my specific areas of concern (one being post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation). I was well informed about the risks associated with having the treatment, signs to look out for, how to treat the skin and the products I should use and avoid post-treatment.
I had the HydraRadiance Facial which is a combination of the HydraFacial® + Obagi Blue Radiance Peel®. It included a cleanse, obagi blue peel, extraction and a fusion of hydrating and protecting solutions to soothe the skin. The peel tingled a little bit upon application but my skin felt very clean and nourished afterwards. I’ve also noticed that my skin appears to be more even since my visit.
Overall, I can say my treatment was excellent and the highlight of my experience along with the staff who were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I was also made aware of their upcoming treatments which includes laser therapy suitable for darker skin tones. I would definitely return to Skin & Sanctuary for their services.
The clinic is accessible and the space was very bright, with a clean and sleek aesthetic. I was warmly welcomed by everybody present and made to feel at home. The guides and brochures in every room contained diverse content to represent all skin tones.
Prior to my treatment, I was given a Visia® skin analysis which was very impressive. The consultation was comprehensive and the practitioner was a fountain of knowledge answering all my questions regarding my biggest concern – post-natal skin care practices and how to deal with the effects of hormonal fluctuations on my skin.
The practitioner was very cautious and made sure the treatment chosen could be tailored to my needs as someone who has a new baby. I felt safe and well informed about the risks associated with having the treatment, what to look out for, how to treat my skin and the products I should use and avoid post-treatment (and if I decide to start breast-feeding again).
I had the Skin Health for Life facial which included the HydraFacial® protocol: a cleanse, peel, extraction and a fusion of hydrating and protecting solutions to soothe the skin. I barely felt the peel, however the extraction was neither uncomfortable or comfortable. It was very satisfying to see the end result of the peel and my skin is a lot less congested since my visit.
I loved the service I was given however, the make-up in the rest rooms didn’t have a diversity of shades to accommodate darker skin tones . I hope this is something that can change in the future. The knowledge I took away has helped me so much and I’m noticing improvements to my skin daily which is boosting my confidence. I will definitely be returning to the clinic and will continue to rave about their services to my friends and family.
