Biography & Clinic Details: I have worked as a Facialist and Beauty Therapist at Hilltop Beauty Salon since 2007, after qualifying in NVQ Levels 2 and 3 Beauty Therapy. I have over ten years experience in the beauty industry and have concentrated my areas of expertise specifically to skincare, including darker skin tones and black skin. I am Guinot trained in product knowledge and facials.
I am especially experienced in providing bespoke non invasive treatments using the Guinot Skincare. I offer both manual and machine based facials, delivering the latest in product specific and anti-ageing treatments, tailored to client's individual needs.
Guinot is an international brand and was established in 1965. In 1972, it gained pharmaceutical backing, and since then, their product formulation, active ingredients and advanced machine based technology are manufactured with pharmaceutical accuracy and diligence.
Areas of Interest: Being of black origin myself, my areas of interest are conditions which typically affect darker skin tones. I have experienced hyper-pigmentation, had acne as a teenager and spent many years trying to repair my skin from scarring, uneven skin tone and post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. In addition, I also suffered from the pregnancy pigmentation condition - Chloasma. I had to educate myself in order to help repair my skin once again.
As a result, I have developed a sound understanding of the differences in, and the needs of black skin tones.
Treatment Specialities: Guinot skincare, products and facials. Our star treatment is the Hydradermie Youth/ Hydradermie Cellular Energy Facial. It is catered to suit any skin type and uses both advanced machine technology and specified products to suit the clients needs.
Awards: Hilltop Beauty Salon is award winning, to date we have won: Guinot Crown Salon since 2012 and we are now Crown Elite & Salon of Excellence 2018.
What is your most recommended product to women of colour and why?: Guinot Newwhite Brightening segment is very effective for treating hyperpigmentation, would be the recommended product prescription. Active ingredients included stabilised Vitamin C and Melanoxyl, which is a complex which can decrease excessive melanin within the melanocyte cell.
